Los Angeles In-Home Maternity Session

This beautiful mama-to-be found me through Instagram originally, which is always so cool to me. She let me know that she loved the natural way I pose my families, and she already knew that she wanted to do their session at home! She really wanted to use the elements present in their home in photos and to make good use of the natural lighting they have available. She loved the idea of using areas of the home they spend a lot of time in, to make the photos even more special.

When I first showed up to the Harris's house, she told me she wanted to dress super simple for their in-home maternity photos! She started out with a super soft off the shoulder black sweater (you can find a similar one at Lulu's) and then changed into a simple black tank top with a black & blue flannel. You definitely don't have to dress fancily for your maternity photos if you don't want to - these photos are a perf example! Dress however you feel the most comfortable and like yourself. Then she brought out a super cute pair of white denim overalls, and finished up with a superrrr cozy cardigan draped around her arms - well, "finished up" before the spontaneous bathtub photos we took at the end :)

These two are going to be first-time parents and they're so excited about it. They were nervous for our session, so we made it kind of a "test run" before the baby is born - since then, I've gotten to photograph their newborn and three-month sessions :) Needless to say the session was a blast. I shot through their blinds, came up with ways to creatively use parts of their home, and we laughed and joked the whole time. I just kept telling them to trust me no matter how crazy I looked with my camera ;)

They actually had just remodeled their house together, so we had to take a couple photos on their doorstep of course!

To end off their lifestyle maternity session, she hopped in the bathtub spontaneously after I told her their bathroom was super cute! I love love the intimate, bare skin photographs we got - she looked absolutely stunning and these photos are so special. Thanks to these two for trusting me and being vulnerable with me - I can't wait to shoot more with them in the future :)
